Organization

ILRI is governed by an independent Board of Trustees.
 
The institute is led by a Director General and a Deputy Director General for Research.
 
ILRI research is organized through five thematic groups:

• Biotechnology Theme
• Market Opportunities Theme
• People, Livestock and the Environment Theme
• Sustainable Livestock Futures Group
• Poverty and Gender Group

 
In addition, the institute has four supporting clusters:

• Directorate
• Partnerships and Communications
• Finance and Operations
• Human Resources
