Trypanosomosis
  • Programme Against African Trypanosomiasis

An international alliance of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations,
World Health Organization, International Atomic Energy Agency and Organization of
African Unity/Inter-African Bureau for Animal Resources promoting integrated
trypanosomiasis control through coordinated international action

  • TIGR’s Trypanosoma brucei genome project website

The Institute for Genomic Research (TIGR, of USA) was recently funded to initiate a
large scale sequencing of the African trypanosome genome. At this web site you will be
able to view the progress of our sequencing project, search our sequence databases,
and download raw sequence data files

  • Trypanosoma brucei Genome Project

One of five genome initiatives promoted and partly sponsored by the World Health
      Organisation

  • The Trypanosoma congolense Partial Genome Project
  • The Wellcome Trust funded the Sanger Institute Pathogen Sequencing Unit (PSU) to
    partially
shotgun sequence the nuclear genome of the livestock-infective Trypanosoma
congolense. This will serve as a useful comparative genomics resource to complement
the genomes of Trypanosoma vivax and Trypanosoma brucei, which is currently being
sequenced in collaboration  between the PSU and The Institute for Genomic Research.

  • The Trypanosoma vivax Partial Genome Project

The Wellcome Trust funded the Sanger Institute Pathogen Sequencing Unit (PSU) to
partially shotgun sequence the nuclear genome of the livestock-infective Trypanosoma
vivax. This will serve as a useful comparative genomics resource to complement the
genomes of Trypanosoma  vivax and Trypanosoma brucei, which is currently being
sequenced in collaboration between the  PSU and The Institute for Genomic Research.
