Zerihun joined International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) in May 2009. He is currently working as an Electronic Publishing Specialist. Dealing with
• Producing high quality print and web optimized information and training materials products in line with ILRI style guide, publication guidelines, approved designs/ templates, and corporate indentify
• Producing high quality graphic arts for print and electronic pages using industry standard graphic packages
• Producing CD ROM labels and handle CD ROM content duplication, etc...
Goshu is mainly assigned to performthe following:
Serials Database Management Control
• Maintain records of holdings in the serial database, using InMagic DB/Textworks. (ILRI and IFPRI/ISNAR journals)
• Make regular claim of the missing issues, and keep statistical records of journal usage. (ILRI and IFPRI/ISNAR journals)
• Set up electronic access to subscribed publications and identify free online resources.
Document delivery and reference service:
• Deal with e-reprint request of articles by downloading and sending them by email to requesters.
• Provide information services to users and give assistance on searching the local databases, external databases, CD-ROMs, and the Internet.
Processing on new materials and others
• Physcial processing of newly acquired materials by assigning Bar-code, stamp and prepares labels, and due date slips and makes them ready for users
• Discards duplicate and outdated (newsletters and other materials based on the discarding policy).
• Participates in the clean-up process of databases
• Participates in weeding out of less or unused materials from the stacks area by using different tools and in accordance with the rules and regulations set-up in order to create shelf space for new additions. And these are transferred to the Archive for further action
Internet Services
- Prepare for users Internet Café computers every morning
- Help users in Internet Café whenever there is a problem
- Check and Maintain equipment in internet café
Reference Supply
- Help users to find reference from the library according to their search requisition.
- Help users to find reference from ILRI and ISNAR Databases
- Help users to find reference from Internet.
- Advice and help them how to use the InfoCenter system.
- Assist in the request and collection of papers written by ILRI staff
Circulation
- Check out and Check in Loaned books, novels, journals and serials
- Request Documents from Nairobi InfoCentre whenever user request documents which are not available in Addis InfoCentre
- Inform Staffs the arrival of order or loaned materials.
- Process incoming and out going inter–library loans.
- Forward search requests to indexers and collect them and deliver to users.
- check the Due date records from Circulation Management Database and Claim.
- Preparing InfoCenter users ID card
Conference Area Facility
- Prepare the necessary accessories (LCD, Laptop, flipchart etc.) for the meeting and arrange according the request of the meeting organizer.

Daniel Haile-Michael is a Web develpment officer in the Web development services of ILRI (International Livestock Research Institute). He is a webmaster for the ILRI web-site and other websites and web resources developed by ILRI. His main tasks at ILRI include Designing and Developing training resources both CD-ROM and web-based; Design of new information products and services applying recent developments in Information Technology; Establishing and maintaining databases for the web team.
Abeba has BA Degree in English Literature from Addis Ababa University and Diploma in Secretarial Science from Addis Ababa Commercial College.
Her main duties at the InfoCentre are:
- Handling the Contact Management Systems, Co-ordination of the InfoCentre Conference Area,
- Giving Administrative Assistance to KMIS, Head
- Processing the acquisitions of print and online journals for both InfoCentres,
- Posting ILRI events on Google Calendar Posting newly issued articles on the ILRINet Infocentre portal,
- Posting on Delicious
Currently I am enrolled at the CPU College in Information Technology field.
Wondimu is mainly assigned to perform the following:
1.Arrange the set up of the InfoCentre Conference area whenever workshop and meeting is held. Prepare ahead of time the necessary equipments.
2.Assist InfoCentre users by retrieving materials from the stack area and archive,
3.Help users to find reference from InfoCentre Database,
4.Check PCs in the Internet Café and assist InfoCentre external users,
5.Participate in the inventory process of the InfoCentre
6.Place work order to the Physical Plants whenever need arises.
