'Food microbial hazards and risks’ seminar

Objectives

It aims to provide basic knowledge on food safety situation in developing countries and microbial food contamination and related health risks. After an overview of food-borne disease issues, the seminar will move into risk analysis concept with an emphasis on risk assessment and risk communication. In risk assessment, participants will be introduced to stochastic processes, how to build and run a simple risk model using @RISK software.

Participants

Twenty-five participants, mostly MSc students from the food technology international graduate program of the Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA), will be attending the seminar. Junior lecturers from the faculty of food technology and veterinary medicine of VNUA are also expected to participate.
