Development of greenhouse gas inventories for livestock in the developing world

This activity encompasses the estimation of methane, CO2 and N2O emissions from different types of livestock systems as a function of agroecology, diets of animals, feed resources available and others. We estimate emission factors by production system and region with the objective of refining the IPCC greenhouse gas inventories. We work closely with IPCC in the development of these parameters and work in close collaboration with existing networks for estimating GHG from livestock globally (i.e. LEARN – Livestock emissions abatement research network).
