Abdoul Kader Ilboudo is a medical doctor from Burkina Faso with a special interest in zoonotic diseases research. He holds a master’s degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. He has been working as a research assistant at the Burkina Faso National Institute of Research in Health Sciences, for the past four years. His research areas of interest are infectious diseases, epidemic-prone diseases and zoonoses including influenza, dengue, viral hepatitis, COVID-19 and numerous others. Abdoul also has undertaken research capacity development training which includes Epidemiology Biostatistics and Quality research methods at the Global Health Institute of the University of Antwerp and laboratory systems and public health in resources limited settings at the Bernhard Nocht Institute of tropical medicine in Germany. Abdoul has extensive experience in research project data management and analysis. He also has experience in field epidemiology in the investigation of outbreak clusters.
The overall objective of Abdoul’s PhD research is to study the epidemiology of Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) and to determine socio-cultural factors that influence individual’s exposure to emerging zoonotic pathogens in Burkina Faso.
