Alex holds a DVM from Makerere University and is currently pursuing an MSc in Molecular Biology at the same institution. He joined ILRI under the BMZ-funded Boosting Uganda's Investment in Livestock Development (BUILD) project researching about improvement of vaccine delivery systems through use of PPR Vaccine combinations.
Previously he worked as the District Veterinary Officer of Bukomansimbi District in Central Uganda. Also worked as a volunteer veterinarian improving conservation and livelihoods through public health at the human-wildlife boundary with DAKTARI an international NGO. Research interests include Functional genomics, One health at human-wildlife boundaries and Reverse Vaccinology.
