Amos Omore

ILRI regional representative, Eastern and Southern Africa

Amos Omore is an epidemiologist with over 20 years experience and expertise in analysis of food safety risks in livestock product markets and experience in assessment of related policy, institutional and technological options that maximize benefits for the poor. He has authored and co-authored over 100 articles in journals, conference proceedings, training manuals, briefs, working papers, books and book chapters. He is currently based in Tanzania (www.ilri.org/Tanzania) where he contributes to generating technical and institutional solutions for improving markets that serve poor consumers and producers. He is leader of the Tanzania dairy value chain under the CGIAR Research Program on Livestock and ILRI Country Representative in Tanzania since January 2014.  Amos holds a PhD in Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics, MSc in Animal Production and Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM).
