Denis Rwabiita Mugizi joined ILRI as a Post-doctoral fellow (Epidemiologist) in May 2021 working with Build Uganda Project and OHRECA. Before his transition to a post-doctoral fellow, Denis was an Animal Health Research Specialist in Build Uganda Project, under the Animal and Human Health (AHH) program. Denis holds a PhD in Veterinary Medicine (Epidemiology track), a Masters of Livestock Development Planning and Management and a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from Makerere University. Denis has over16 years’ experience in implementing agricultural research involving multi-donor agencies like Sida, BTC and World bank. Before Joining ILRI, he was a Dean and Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture at Uganda Martyrs University, Lecturer at College of Veterinary Medicine Makerere University, Animal Health Scientist at National Agriculture Research Organization- Uganda and a Veterinary officer in Uganda. He has extensive experience in zoonotic disease epidemiology and a track record in scholarly writing and publishing.
