Rupsha R Banerjee, PhD Science Technology and Cognition, with over 10 years’ experience working in Asia and Africa, has skills in evidence-based research to stimulate innovation for development, recognize institutional needs and designs for emerging markets and assess their influence in policy, agricultural transformation and decision making in households and livelihoods. She works on evaluating delivery and business models for scaling technology including gender dimensions for innovation. She has assessed institutional and community needs for drought risk financing solution assessments in Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, Senegal and Somalia. She currently leads an agenda for scaling-out drought index-insurance for livestock and other drought risk financing approaches, including use of digital information for service delivery in the drylands of sub-Saharan Africa.
