Shirley Tarawali

Board secretary, Assistant Director General and chair of the Global Agenda for Sustainable Livestock

Shirley Tarawali (UK) is an assistant director general and secretary to the ILRI Board of Trustees. Prior to this, she was director of ILRI’s people, livestock and the environment research team. She has a PhD in Plant Science from the University of London. Previously Shirley held a joint appointment with ILRI and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) based in Ibadan, Nigeria where her research interests were mainly in crop livestock and pastoral systems.
