This project builds on the experience and lessons learned from other animal health projects in Ethiopia and aims to enhance the quality and quantity of integrated veterinary service delivery towards improved animal health.

This project aims to increase sustainable livestock productivity and improve marketing of livestock products by enhancing quality and reliability of integrated public-private veterinary service delivery. The project also supports the certification of export abattoirs through the development of meat inspection courses and provision of training that provides safe and quality livestock. The project is implemented in Amhara, Oromia and Somali regional states.

Objectives

  • To strengthen the quality and delivery of public and private veterinary services through the creation of an enabling and rationalizing environment. 
  • To improve the technical competencies of veterinary service providers to enable them to deliver better and rationalized services.
  • To improve the safety of animal food products and achieving better control of zoonotic diseases.
