In this position Peter is responsible for the planning, implementation, quality assurance and reporting processes for ILRI’s IA function. He also facilitates the implementation of the Centre’s Risk Management system. Peter has over 10 years experience in internal audit and financial management, he holds a Masters in Business Administration (Accounting) and Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) Degree from the University of Nairobi. He is also a qualified accountant-CPA(K) and member of Institute of Certified Accountant (K) and Institute of Internal Auditors. Prior to Joining the ILRI IAU, Peter worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as the Manager in charge of outsourced internal audit services and enterprise risk services. Among the clients he managed for outsourced internal audit services at PwC included Lafarge East Africa, Magadi Soda and Strathmore University. Also at PwC, Peter was involved in training and facilitating risk management for a number of clients including Ministry of Agriculture, Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, Athi Water Management Board, Hima Cement Uganda and King Faisal Hospital in Rwanda. Peter has also headed the Internal Audit Departments of Nairobi Hospital and Unilever Tea.
