Examining divergent strategies in farming systems research

Abstract

Examines the role of baseline surveys and of farmers in farming systems research and in technology design, using the experience of ILCA's Humid Zone Programme; also examines the potential of farming systems research teams working in specific locations to provide guidelines for the development of wider geographical areas, including whole ecological zones.
