Admasu Asfaw Maruta is a development economist with research interests in development economics, including economic growth, income inequality, poverty, education, health, energy, trade, and financial inclusion. Maruta mainly focuses on probing the effectiveness of foreign aid in promoting economic development at the sectoral level. He has published various development topics in top-ranked journals. Maruta holds PhD in Applied Economics from the University of South Australia; an MSc in Agriculture and Resource Economics from the University of Alberta, Canada; MA in Business Economics from Unity University, Ethiopia; and BA in Economics from Haramaya University, Ethiopia. Maruta worked in various international institutions, including the World Bank, the London School of Economics and Political Science, and RMIT University Melbourne. Currently, he is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the International Livestock Research Institute (IRLI) based in Nairobi, Kenya.
