Accelerating Food Systems Transformation in Sub-Saharan Africa: Livestock as a Catalyst for Investment, Innovation, and Resilience

Join our side event at #UNFSS2025 focusing on how livestock can accelerate food systems transformation in Sub-Saharan Africa. This event, titled "Accelerating Food Systems Transformation in Sub-Saharan Africa: Livestock as a Catalyst for Investment, Innovation, and Resilience," will explore how the livestock sector can drive inclusive, resilient, and climate-smart food systems.

The event is co-organized by several key partners, including:

  • The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development of Kenya
  • The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Cameroon
  • The Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT
  • The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI)
  • The Global Sustainable Livestock Coalition (GSLC)
  • Soil4Climate Inc.

Experts from Kenya, Ethiopia, and Cameroon, alongside scientists and farmers, will discuss the potential of livestock systems to improve food security, protect farmers' rights, promote sustainable forage, and create multifunctional landscapes. The panel will also feature an interactive segment for peer-to-peer engagement and the launch of a multi-stakeholder investment platform. This platform aims to connect livestock innovation with food systems transformation and encourage South-South exchanges.

Join leaders from Kenya, Cameroon and Ethiopia at our #UNFSS2025 side event to discuss scalable solutions and launch a new multi-stakeholder investment platform side event
