As a socio-economist with a background in development and international cooperation, I specialize in the field of pastoralism and in value chain approaches. Working for the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD), I am currently based in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) and hosted by ILRI.
My research focuses on the impact of value chains on a given territory, particularly in terms of sustainable development and inequalities. I work primarily—but not exclusively—in areas where pastoral livestock farming systems are present. My work is based on a participatory approach, aiming to involve local stakeholders as much as possible in defining research objectives and developing policy recommendations. Furthermore, my ambition is to help bridge the gap between research and policymaking by developing knowledge products that are easily usable by policymakers.
