Abstract

Summary paper focussing on findings of a joint ILCA/RDP pastoral systems study programme conducted in the Tcheffa valley, discussing conflicts between Afar pastoralists & Oromo farmers, & problems of accomodating immigrants & resident herds; w. dry matter production & consumption estimates, calculations of feed availability & feed requirements, & data on total livestock units for each social group.
