Towards collaborative research on the one-humped camel in Africa

Abstract

Analyses the distribution and importance of the one-humped camel in Africa in terms of numbers, density and relationship to other domestic animal and human populations. Presents a bibliographic review of more than 3000 literature items. Also presents, analyses and discusses current research on the camel in 17 African countries. Includes propositions for the coordination of future camel research.
