Research Associate - Reducing Mastitis Incidence and Improving Antibiotic Stewardship in Kenyan Smallholder Dairy Systems (MaziwaPlus) Project

Christian is a Kenyan veterinary surgeon currently completing his master’s in Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics at the University of Nairobi. His thesis focuses on community-based rabies surveillance and control approaches. In addition, he has postgraduate training in Disaster Management and Disaster Preparedness. He has worked on various One Health projects investigating zoonoses, antimicrobial resistance, and infectious diseases, with excellent publication track https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=W5OGvP0AAAAJ. He has extensive experience in field surveillance and laboratory investigation of diseases to support control and eradication efforts. Recently, Christian served as a Program Officer in the Capacitating One Health in Eastern and Southern Africa (COHESA) project at the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-Biotech Applications (ISAAA) AfriCenter https://africenter.isaaa.org/team/dr-christian-odinga/, where he primarily supported enhanced governance of One Health in 11 countries across East and Southern Africa. He has valuable experience in translating science for adoption and action by effectively communicating research outputs to non-technical audiences.
