
Godfrey Ngoteya is a Field Coordinator at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), where he contributes to the People, Policy, and Institutions (PPI) program. He currently supports the CGIAR research initiative on Sustainable Animal and Aquatic Foods (SAAF), focusing on strengthening research uptake and strengthening community-level engagement in food systems.
With a background in social economics, Godfrey brings over a decade of experience in research and development across Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly in Tanzania. Before joining ILRI, he worked as an independent consultant for a range of international organisations, including the Agricultural Policy Research in Africa (APRA), the International Centre for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), AMREF-Tanzania, Centre for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), SNV-Tanzania, Solidaridad, and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), among others. He later served briefly as a Research Associate at the World Vegetable Centre (AVRDC). His consulting work involved baseline studies, value chain and gender analyses, monitoring and evaluation activities, and participatory community resource mapping, among others.
Godfrey holds a Master’s degree in Rural Development from Sokoine University of Agriculture and a Bachelor’s degree in Project Planning, Management, and Community Development from the University of Dodoma.
