Dr. Victor Yamo is the Farming Campaigns Manager at World Animal Protection Africa office where he is actively working with the animal resource industry, governments, corporates, technical personnel, consumers and the general public in showing the critical connection between the welfare of intensively farmed animals, their productivity, the quality of products and the safety of the foods produced by these animals which ultimately end on the consumers’ plates.


Victor is a University of Nairobi trained Veterinary Surgeon who also holds an MBA degree from University of Free State (South Africa) and a certificate on Poultry Health & Management obtained from the Poultry Health Institute in Deventer, Netherlands. He has extensive experience in veterinary services, poultry production systems and agribusiness obtained from working with various regional commercial and NGOs. He has held various management positions at Kenchic Ltd, Equity Bank, Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC), Coopers and World Vision International over the past 25 years. He is also a part time lecturer for Animal Welfare, Ethics & Law at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).


Victor is also the current Councilor for Kenya to the Commonwealth Veterinary Association (CVA), the Secretary of Kenya Animal Health Network (KAHN) and a full member of Kenya Institute of Management (KIM).
