
Mr. Yayeherad Abebe is the L&Po Manager at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), bringing over 13 years of experience in corporate affairs, diplomatic liaison, consular services, government relations, immigration, privileges and immunities, and corporate travel management.
Prior to joining ILRI, he held professional roles with Ethiopian Airlines, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and the Embassy of Canada in Ethiopia, where he gained extensive experience in international relations, stakeholder engagement, diplomatic affairs, and consular services within multicultural and international environments.
He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and has completed various professional development and specialized certification programs through diplomatic missions and the Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA), with a focus on diplomacy, legal protocol, international cooperation, and immunities and privileges.
At ILRI, he leads the Liaison and Protocol Unit, serving as the primary interface between ILRI (including hosted institutions) and the Ethiopian government authorities, diplomatic missions, and international organizations. His work focuses on facilitating institutional engagement, managing privileges and immunities, immigration and corporate travel services, customs and consular matters, and strengthening partnerships that support ILRI's research and development mission in Ethiopia.
