Small ruminant morbidity and mortality in the delta of Niger, Mali
Abstract
Malnutrition, small pox and lung diseases were found to be the major causes of morbidity and mortality among sheep and goats during 1983-1985, although to varying degrees of severity. Several cases of abortion were noted among goats. At slaughter houses, respiratory diseases and fascioliasis were the main causes of seizures. Suggestions are made in order to overcome constraints and to inrease small ruminant productivity.
