
Understanding livelihood, conflict and risk: insights from exploratory research among farmers and herders in Kano, Northern Nigeria
Abstract
This research brief presents findings from an exploratory study on livelihood, conflict, and risk management among farmers and herders in Kano, Northern Nigeria. Through gender-disaggregated focus group discussions, the study explored how these communities perceive, rank, and navigate a complex, interconnected system of risks, including environmental variability, market pressures, and resource contestation.
