
Dr. Isidore Houaga is a Statistical Geneticist at the International Livestock Research Institute and leads Capacity Building and Knowledge Exchange Program at the Centre for Tropical Livestock Genetics and Health (CTLGH, https://www.ctlgh.org/). With over eight years of postdoctoral experience in livestock breeding, genomics, and research–development, his work focuses on genomic prediction, dairy production, feed efficiency, methane emissions, and climate resilience traits in livestock in low- and middle-income countries. He is also an Academic Associate at the University of South Africa, where he contributes to postgraduate training and supervision in Animal Quantitative Genetics and Genomics. He has coordinated regional initiatives such as the West African animal genebank and actively leads training programs in livestock genetics across Africa.
