Siobhan Mor

Reader in One Health

Siobhan is an interdisciplinary, public health epidemiologist and veterinarian-researcher with major interests in emerging zoonotic diseases, global public policy and capacity building for One Health, particularly in Africa region. A fellow of the Australasian College of Tropical Medicine, Siobhan is a Reader in One Health at the Institute of Infection, Veterinary and Ecological Sciences at the University of Liverpool, UK, and holds a joint appointment at the International Livestock Research Institute in Ethiopia, where she is currently based. She has previously held appointments at Tufts University School of Medicine (2009-2011) and University of Sydney School of Veterinary Science (2012-2018). Notable projects include: (i) Global Health adviser for the RESPOND project (part of USAID’s Emerging Pandemic Threats program) which aimed to strengthen capacity for response to emerging diseases in developing countries (2009-2011; (ii) Research Lead for the HORN project in Ethiopia (2018-2022) which aimed to strengthen capacity of One Health research in the Horn of Africa; and (iii) ILRI Lead for the HEAL project which aims to strenghthen One Health service delivery in (agro)pastoralist areas of Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia.
