KAZNET: Real-time information for smarter decisions by and for farmers and livestock keepers through citizen science

Abstract

This brief describes the KAZNET crowdsourcing platform and shows the impacts achieved. KAZNET is a digital platform developed by ILRI to empower pastoralist and agro-pastoralist communities. It uses citizen science to collect and disseminate near-real-time information on livestock markets, rangeland conditions, and household food security.
