Meghdoot Project – Enhancements in 2025

Abstract

The Meghdoot mobile application is a national digital platform developed to deliver location- and crop-specific weather-based agro-advisories to farmers across India. Integrating downscaled weather forecasts with agrometeorological advisories generated by IMD and IITM, the platform supports climate-informed farm decision-making. In 2025, project activities focused on strengthening Meghdoot’s technical foundation through infrastructure review, phased server migration, environment configuration, and system validation. Core application components and databases were migrated to a new server environment with minimal service disruption, while continuous maintenance, data cleanup, and operational support ensured platform stability. Substantial progress was achieved in infrastructure readiness, data quality improvement, and system reliability. These efforts position Meghdoot for sustained operational performance and future scalability as a mission-critical digital public service for agricultural advisory delivery.
