Results of food safety assessment in Ethiopian sheep and goat value chains presented in Madrid

On March 20-22, 2013 the annual conference of the Society for Veterinary Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine was held at the Illustrious Official College of Physicians in Madrid, Spain. This was an extraordinary venue, with mosaics and frescoes covering the walls and ceiling of the lecture theater. Safe Food, Fair Food was represented by Tamsin Dewé, consultant with the International Livestock Research Institute, who presented a poster summarizing the results of the Rapid Integrated Assessment of food safety and nutrition in Ethiopia. The poster generated much interest, both for the participatory approach of the work, and its findings on the food safety and nutrition risks within the small ruminant value chains in Ethiopia.
