About the event

The 9th World One Health Congress takes place at the Lisbon Congress Centre in Lisbon, Portugal, from 4 to 7 September 2026. Organized by the global One Health Community, it returns for its ninth edition and brings together researchers, policymakers, international organizations, civil society, and early career scientists working on One Health science and policy.

Over four days, parallel tracks cover One Health science, antimicrobial agents and resistance, and the science-policy interface. These sit across 12 topic themes, among them climate change and ecosystem health, wildlife and pathogen interfaces, food systems and plant health, One Health implementation and financing, and governance and legal frameworks. Every abstract was selected through an open international call.

ILRI researchers present in five sessions in Lisbon, on wildmeat value chains, community tools for the Horn of Africa, food and agriculture indicators for preparedness, applying the Global One Health Index to antimicrobial resistance, and a 30-year synthesis of CGIAR One Health implementation models.
