Garima Sharma is a veterinary public health specialist with research interests in food safety, antimicrobial resistance, zoonotic diseases, and one health. She holds a PhD in Medical Sciences (Epidemiology) from Uppsala University, Sweden (2019-2022). She joined as a post-doctoral fellow in the Animal and Human Health Department (AHH) and is currently based in Nairobi, Kenya. Her Ph.D. work focused extensively on assessing the risks of antimicrobial resistance in Indian dairy and poultry value chains using a one-health approach. She is deeply committed to improving food safety and minimizing the risks of AMR and zoonotic diseases in low and middle-income countries by directly engaging with the stakeholders in the dairy and poultry value chains, identifying gaps, and developing practical interventions.
