3 Tier Network managing livestock disease collectively, for better lives though livestock

Through the 3-tier model, a network of trained community diseases reporters accessible at the village level has been created. Trained to be the first responders to animal health issues, they serve as an immediate resource for herders and are in position to respond to reports in multiple villages.

The community disease reporters train herders on livestock diseases based on syndromes, and empowers them to regularly observe and examine their animals and report at the earliest recognition of a disease symptom. The trained herders cover several villages and are the disease surveillance champions. This network covers a wide area and serves many herders as with a link to the County Veterinary Officers or animal health assistants.
