Art competition showcases public view of livestock development in Vietnam

A competition has been launched within the framework of the exhibition ‘Livestock Development in Vietnam from Artists’ and Farmers’ Perspectives,’ to raise public awareness on the important role of livestock in the livelihoods, health and culture of Vietnamese people. This event is especially important given how the domestic livestock sector and smallholder livestock keepers are being heavily affected by African swine fever and the COVID-19 pandemic.

The competition is organized by the project Livestock-led Interventions towards equitable livelihoods and improved environment in the northwest highlands of Vietnam, which is also known as Li-chăn (meaning ‘beautiful’ in the local Thai dialect) and the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, one of the leading national agencies in arts and cultural research, which is hosting the event. The exhibition ‘Livestock Development in Vietnam from Artists’ and Farmers’ Perspectives,’ which aims to raise public awareness on the role of livestock in improving people’s livelihoods as well as support the country’s smallholder livestock producers in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals will be launched mid-October 2021.

The competition is open to Vietnamese nationals from 15 September to 5 October 2021.
