Communications Officer, People, Policies & Institutions I Livestock, Climate and Environment

Grace Oduor is the Communications Officer for the People, Policies & Institutions (PPI) and Livestock, Climate and Environment (LCE) programs at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI). She is a strategic marketing and communications specialist with over 10 years of experience leading effective communications strategies across the private and international development sectors.

At IRLI, she is responsible for enhancing the visibility, influence, and impact of PPI and LCE research programs through the development of communication strategies, thought leadership content, knowledge products, digital engagement campaigns, and stakeholder outreach. Working closely with scientists and program leaders, she translates complex research findings into compelling stories and audience-centered communications that inform policy, engage donors and partners, and promote the uptake of research for development outcomes.

Prior to joining ILRI, Grace served as Africa Regional Communications Specialist at Terre des Hommes Netherlands, where she led strategic communications for child protection and gender equality programs across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Madagascar. She also held communications roles at the African Academy of Sciences and KPMG East Africa. Throughout her career, Grace has designed and implemented communications strategies for donor-funded programs supported by the European Union, the World Bank, Mastercard Foundation, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Dutch Relief Alliance, and the National Postcode Lottery. 

Grace holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration (Marketing) from United States International University, Africa and a Diploma in Marketing Communications from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
