Postdoctoral Fellow

Krithika Anbazhagan is a postdoctoral fellow with the Livestock Genetics, Nutrition, and Feed Resources (LGNFR) team, focusing on delivering handheld near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) technologies for rapid on-farm feed quality assessment and mapping global feed diversity. She is a crop researcher by training with experience in crop phenotyping and is intrigued by crop–livestock–human–environment interrelationships, farming systems, and nutrition-sensitive agriculture.

She holds a PhD in Plant Genetics from Osmania University, India, and a Master’s in Biochemistry from Bangalore University, India. Her research interests include crop diversity, climate adaptation, and system design to deliver context-relevant solutions that look beyond productivity alone and prioritize community needs and sustainability.

She joined ILRI in July 2024 and has previously worked in India with a biotech startup, the Protection of Plant Varieties & Farmers’ Rights Authority (Ministry of Agriculture), and ICRISAT.
