My USP in the whole of CABI is that I have practical experience of growing crops for profit. I was a farmer in Kent for 16 years growing both GMOs and organic produce immediately prior to working for CABI. This commercial experience provides me with an understanding of the problems facing farmers and their mentality in dealing with problems.
Prior to being a farmer I worked in academic circles mostly in universities studying the molecular biology of plant/ pathogen interactions.
