
Alessandra Galiè is the Team Leader: Gender at ILRI, and Principal Scientist. She has 20 years of experience conducting gender analysis for agriculture development focused on women's empowerment and gender norms in livestock and crop systems. With her team, they developed effective models to support women’s empowerment through livestock business, published extensively on gender considerations in agriculture, and also, supported the integration of gender considerations in policy planning. She obtained a PhD from Wageningen University, Netherlands; one MA from University of London, UK; and one MA from the University of Bologna, Italy.
