
Alessandra Galiè is the Team Leader: Gender at ILRI. She conducts research on gender in livestock value chains with a focus on gender analysis in genetics, empowerment and nutrition and food security. Before joining ILRI she worked at the International Centre for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) on gendered empowerment, seed governance and participatory plant breeding. She also worked in the NGO sector. She holds a PhD from Wageningen University and an MA in social anthropology of development from the University of London.
