Gezahegn Alemayehu is a veterinarian and has been working as a research officer for the Animal and Human Health program. He has an MSc and PhD in Veterinary Public Health and has previously served as an Associate Professor at a public university, where he played an important role in shaping future veterinary professionals. 

Gezahegn Alemayehu is an expert in the fields of veterinary medicine, public health, and epidemiology. His research is focused on studying various aspects of infectious disease epidemiology, promoting herd health, and ensuring farm animal welfare. Additionally, Alemayehu has contributed significantly to understanding and mitigating Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). His research aims to advance scientific knowledge, improve veterinary practices, and enhance the overall health and well-being of animals, humans, and ecosystems.
