Advancing sustainable livestock ILRI corporate report 2026

In its 2026 corporate report, the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) features some of its most significant results and achievements from 2025 and 2026. The report, published in June 2026, includes a series of infographics that provide snapshots of the institute’s impact, innovations, influence, and alliances. • “22 policies influenced” refers to the 22 instances of policy change reported by ILRI in 2025 as captured on the CGIAR Results Dashboard. These policy changes include Quezon City government adopting a vendor business school ordinance to strengthen informal food markets in the Philippines and the African Union-Inter African Bureau for Animal Resources using feed assessment modelling to support livestock investments in Nigeria and Cameroon.
• “104 ILRI innovations in use” refers to the 104 ILRI innovations in use in 2025 as captured in the CGIAR Results Dashboard. These innovations include transforming cassava peels into nutritious animal feed and improved chickens, animal services and markets for women farmers in Tanzania.  
• “60+ countries with results” refers to the number of countries in which ILRI, in collaboration with other CGIAR entities and partners, have achieved results, as captured in the CGIAR Results Dashboard.
• “Delivered by 80+ research projects” refers to the number of ILRI research projects active in 2026 as reported in ILRI's internally available Plan of Results and Budget submissions.
• “1.8 million users reached” refers to the number of users—farmers, value-chain actors, and others who used or were reached by an ILRI innovation in 2025, as captured in the CGIAR Results Dashboard.

• “1,200+ knowledge products published in 2025” refers to the 1,212 knowledge products, including reports and journal articles, published by ILRI in its document repository, CGSpace, between 1 January 2025 and 31 December 2025, as captured in internally available CGSpace reports.  
• “685,000 downloads of publications in 2025” refers to the total of 684,953 downloads of knowledge products from ILRI’s community on CGSpace between 1 January 2025 and 31 December 2025, as captured in internally available CGSpace reports.  
• “15.4% growth in followers across social channels” refers to the net audience growth across ILRI's social media channels between 1 April 2025 and 1 April 2026 as captured in internally available SproutSocial reports.
• “25.4% growth in engagement rate across social channels” refers to the increase in engagement on ILRI’s social media profiles between 1 April 2025 and 1 April 2026 as captured in internally available SproutSocial reports. 

• “1,000+ climate experts trained on long-term planning and use of decision-support tools” refers to ILRI’s longstanding partnership with the African Group of Negotiators Expert Support (AGNES), including ILRI’s contributions to the Climate Governance, Diplomacy and Negotiations Leadership Program, which has trained over 1,000 specialists to date, as captured in this corporate report story.
• “500 delegates from 50 countries joined the 9th International Greenhouse Gas and Animal Agriculture Conference” refers to ILRI co-hosting, with the Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research, the 9^th GGAA Conference in Nairobi. The event attracted 500 delegates from 50 countries to share advances in low-emission livestock systems.
• “70+ innovators brought together for the Second Climate Action Innovation Hub” refers to ILRI partnering with the African Union Commission to raise resources to hold the second Climate Action Innovation Hub as part of the Africa Climate Summit, bringing 76 innovators from 32 countries together to showcase their climate-smart solutions, as captured in this report.
