Principal Scientist, Climate change adaptation & Head of delegation UNFCCC
Dr. Todd Crane is a Principal Scientist - Climate Change Adaptation in the Livestock, Climate and Environment program at the International Livestock Research Institute in Nairobi, Kenya. With over 20 years of research experience in East and West Africa, his work focuses on the social and institutional dynamics of climate change adaptation and low-emission development in agricultural and pastoral systems. An anthropologist by training, Dr. Crane oversees a team of social science researchers whose work covers the social dimensions of climate change impacts and interventions, including locally-led adaptation, innovative scaling models, gender and social inclusion, governance institutions and science-policy interactions. With one foot in critical analysis and another in practical engagements, his goal to promote more sustainable and socially equitable climate change solutions for rural development in Africa.
