Frank Mwangi is a Communications Intern at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) in Nairobi, Kenya, supporting the Communications, Advocacy, and Knowledge Management (CAKM) program. He has over a year of experience in digital communications within international development organizations. His interests lie in creating digital content across platforms and finding creative ways to break down development impact into stories that everyday audiences can actually connect with.
At ILRI, Frank helps produce photography, videography, and graphics that appear across the institute's social media platforms, reports, and publications. He collaborates with Communications Officers within the CAKM program and other programs to manage and update web content, develop blogs and other digital materials, and works to ensure that ILRI's research and impact are communicated in ways that are accurate, engaging, and accessible to diverse audiences.
Alongside his ILRI role, Frank also serves as a Digital Communications Assistant for the CGIAR Multifunctional Landscapes program, where he works closely with the Communications Lead to plan, create, and schedule content across the program's social media platforms, adapt research outputs and events into accessible digital content, produce short-form multimedia, distribute newsletters, and support the coordination of webinars and virtual events. He maintains content calendars and ensures digital outputs stay aligned with program priorities.
Frank holds a bachelor's degree in applied communication, majoring in Corporate Communications, from Multimedia University of Kenya (MMU).
