Over the next decade, the program's goal is to improve livelihoods for food producers, ensure affordable, nutritious, and healthy food for consumers, and create a healthier natural environment.

The program was developed collaboratively with the ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN member states, and various partners. It emphasizes a cross-disciplinary approach, ensuring that the program and food security solutions are co-created and co-owned by ASEAN partners.

The ASEAN-CGIAR Innovate for Food Regional Program focuses on eight intervention packages, addressing different aspects from agrochemical use to climate neutrality, agrobiodiversity, value chains, among others.

Several funding partners, including Australia and the UK, expressed their support and commitment to the program whose launch was a significant milestone in enhancing innovation within ASEAN's agri-food systems. .
